I borrowed a guitar yesterday and walked it home.
It's something I just recently became interesting in learning more about. I have some experience with piano and can fake my way through a lot of tunes. Guitar appealed to me because of it's portability and it's accessibility to a lot people (i.e.: going home to play for a group of friends). Foundation with piano and having knowledge of music theory is going to help out a lot.
Trying to get the proper hand and finger position is probably the most stressful thing right now. I don't think I've formed a proper chord as of yet. However, I made some progress because I:
- Learned how to tune the strings correctly.
- How to hold the guitar properly.
- Learned basic strumming patterns.
It's a work in progress and my plan is to keep trying it and eventually purchase my own. As always, I'll continue to practice with voice and piano. My goal with guitar is to learn some basic chords to play "most requested" type songs. Being able to bring it to the beach back home and noodle around would be great.
